Nature or Nurture?

Nature or Nurture?

There are a few communities around the world where longevity is fairly common. Three such places were the subject of a study given that living beyond 100 years there was not a rarity. One was in southern Africa, one in Scandinavia, and one in the Far East. They did not share culture, geography or race. So researchers wanted to know what characteristics they shared to account for the larger proportion of nonagenarians and centenarians. In short there were 3 factors common to all three societies. 1) Mostly a plant based diet. 2) Regular daily exercise. 3) A strong social support system. Naturally, genetics must play a role, too. What do you think is more important, nature or nurture?
